I have always had a big interest in food, nutrition and health having being brought up in a family food business that focused on good quality, locally sourced foods. I started to gain insight into the connection between what we eat and how we feel from quite early on.
However, as I got older and life got in the way my own health started to take a turn for the worst. I developed an autoimmune thyroid condition called Grave’s disease and I also had PCOS which I was diagnosed with at 19.
This condition led to a sharp decline in my physical and mental health. I started to research these conditions and other female hormonal issues at an in depth level and I came to realise that generalised nutrition advice is not always enough for optimum health and that there are many other possible contributors to ill health including lack of self-care, work stress, financial issues and difficult relationships.
Moving forward a few years I have reversed my autoimmune thyroid condition and have a much better handle on my PCOS. This experience for me along with my educational background in Nutrition allows me to help others using an evidence based and compassionate approach.
I strive to help others take control of their health, feel empowered by their food and lifestyle choices and become the best version of themselves.
